About T.D. Law

The Story That Demanded to Be Told

Two years ago, a story began playing in my mind like an endless film—so vivid and extensive it demanded to become a nine-book series. I had to write it.

I’m T.D. Law, a full-time writer who discovered that authentic storytelling should drive genre classification, not conform to it. What started as an unstoppable creative vision has evolved into something I now recognise as Literary Fiction with Cosmic Horror and Dark Fantasy elements—though that classification only came after the third structural edit and seventh draft.

My Approach: Story First, Genre Later

I didn’t set out to write in any particular genre. The story demanded to be told first. After eighteen months of development, multiple structural edits, and countless revisions, I finally understood what I’d created: a genre-transcendent work that bridges literary fiction with cosmic horror and dark fantasy.

This organic discovery process has become my philosophy: let the story emerge authentically, then discover where it belongs through reader response rather than market calculation.

The Echoes Series: Nine Books, One Vision

Echoes of a Lost Voice is the keystone of a nine-book series—three interconnected trilogies exploring consciousness, reality, and humanity’s place within cosmic forces beyond comprehension. While it’s technically Book 4 of the series, it will be published first, serving as the foundation that makes all other books in the universe more meaningful.

The scope is intentionally cinematic. I write and edit every day, a habit I genuinely look forward to, particularly during the planning stages and world-building that support this expansive narrative universe.

Discovering Genre Through Readers

Currently, I’m working with beta readers from cosmic horror, dark fantasy, and literary fiction communities to answer a crucial question: Which genre’s readers feel most satisfied with what I’ve written?

This isn’t about market positioning—it’s about understanding where my authentic voice naturally resonates. The story emerged from genuine creative vision; now I’m discovering its commercial identity through the people who matter most: readers.

My Writing Journey

I’ve explored action thrillers and cosy English village mysteries while finding my voice, but literary cosmic horror appears to be where my authentic storytelling instincts lead. Every day brings new discoveries about the craft, the characters, and the vast universe I’m building.

Writing full-time has taught me that stories choose their writers as much as we choose them. Echoes of a Lost Voice chose me with such clarity and persistence that ignoring it wasn’t an option.

What Drives Me

I believe in the power of authentic storytelling that transcends easy categorisation. In an industry often driven by trends and market formulas, I’m committed to developing works that create new reader experiences rather than following established patterns.

My goal isn’t just to publish books—it’s to contribute something genuinely unique to contemporary literature while maintaining the narrative accessibility that connects with readers across genre boundaries.

Connect With Me

Whether you’re a reader intrigued by genre-blending fiction, a writer exploring your own authentic voice, or someone curious about the intersection of literary and speculative fiction, I’d love to connect.

The story that started as a film in my mind continues to evolve with each draft, each reader response, and each day at the keyboard. Join me as I discover where this journey leads.
